Got here today, Sunday evening and I wish I found this place sooner!!! Pizza Cassette has of course pizza, sandwiches, and more AND ICE CREAM… my pup loved the vanilla!!! The band is great and so much fun!!! Deft beer is delicious!!! Great find will be back!!! There is wine and mead as well!!! Such an amazing spot!!!

Good selection of Belgian beers, which makes them standout in the IPA-dominated San Diego craft beer scene. The location also has much to recommend for it in that the tasting room shares a common courtyard with a few other similar establishments, including the Lost Cause Meadery which is another excellent (& uncommon) option. There is also a place that serves freshly made pizzas.

Good outdoor seating area for this brewery. The atmosphere was lively with numerous customers seated on the available tables. The two bartenders were super friendly and greeted me with each beer I ordered. I liked the display of the beers available on draft by showing them on ‘boards’ right above the taps. I especially liked how the ABV and IBU was specified on the bottom of each beer board with a couple of bullet items on what the beer is like specified in the middle of the board. There were approximately 16 to 18 beers on draft with a display board for each beer. Each board had a flag associated with it in the background telling the customer the origin of each draft type. Simply put, I loved the info displayed for whatever beers were on tap. I would visit this place again if in the San Diego area.

The surrounding area is kinda sketch, so it was sure surprising to find a Deft Brewing located in a beautiful, warm, and inviting courtyard filled with the sound of live music, small children climbing on things, and old ladies dancing. The courtyard itself is surrounded by several other food/drink purveyors, but Deft Brewing was the only one offering beer. Between my Fiancé and I, we had four different beers. Each beer was, actually, very good! Neither of us was disappointed in any way. If you like Coronado Brewing (down the street), I'm sure you'll like Deft Brewing more for it's improved atmosphere, better pizza, drink choices beyond beer, and in our opinion, better tasting beer.

Three choices of alcohol. The mead was all delicious and the beer choices had great names which made for fun sampling. Next time I have to try the wine. Definitely recommend trying this place at least once.

What a beautiful gem of a craft microbrewery for traditional beer lovers. We were instantly pleased to see the delicious variety of monastic Belgian styles available in the land of West Coast IPA breweries. Instead of just being another hop house with 10 different types of uninspired IPAs, Deft keeps a broad menu of delicious and traditional European beer styles from Germany, England, Belgium, and Ireland done fantastically with their own unique approach. Brewers were actively brewing behind the bar in a Friday evening during our visit to keep up with demand. I can't wait to see what this team blooms into in the years coming.
